As a Venture Capital Analyst within Zacua Ventures, you will be part of a dynamic team focused on the entire built environment ecosystem, particularly dealing with challenges around sustainability, the industry’s carbon footprint, enhanced productivity and safety, and urbanization solutions.
You will have a multifaceted role that encompasses deal sourcing, investment analysis, portfolio management, CRM management, and fund reporting. You will be a vital part of our mission to identify, evaluate, and manage investments in innovative startups while maintaining strong relationships with investors and stakeholders.
The position will be based in Madrid, with a hybrid of remote/office work.
Key Responsibilities
1.- Deal Sourcing:
● Identify and source potential investment opportunities through various channels, including networking, attending industry events, and research.
● Build and maintain a robust deal flow pipeline and conduct initial screening of the startups.
2.- Market Research:
● Conduct preliminary market and industry research to identify trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging opportunities in the construction industry.
● Help analyze market dynamics to support investment strategies.
3.- Due Diligence:
● Perform due diligence on potential portfolio companies, including assessing business models, market fit, team, and financials.
● Evaluate the technology, intellectual property, and scalability of target companies.
4.- Financial Analysis:
●Help develop and maintain financial models to assess the financial viability and growth potential of target investments.
● Assist in analyzing financial statements, projections, and valuation methodologies.
5.- Investment Recommendations:
● Prepare investment memos summarizing key findings, risks, and opportunities for potential investments.
● Present recommendations to the investment committee, supporting investment decisions.
6.- Portfolio Management:
● Assist in monitoring the performance of existing portfolio companies, tracking key financial metrics and milestones.
Collaborate with the team to support growth and value creation initiatives for portfolio companies.
7.- CRM Management:
● Help manage and maintain the fund's CRM system to ensure accurate and up-to-date investor and stakeholder information.
● Cultivate and strengthen relationships with investors by providing regular updates and addressing inquiries.
8.- Fund Reporting:
● Assist in preparing periodic fund performance reports for investors, highlighting key metrics and portfolio updates.
● Assist in the preparation of regulatory filings and compliance reports.
Qualifications
● 1-2 years of experience working in high-speed, demanding environments, such as business consulting, investment banking, startups, etc. Construction experience/knowhow is a plus
● Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Economics, Engineering or a related field.
● Strong analytical skills with expertise in modeling and analysis.
● Excellent attention to detail and the ability to conduct thorough due diligence.
● Ability to create Excel models and PowerPoint presentations.
● Strong written and verbal communication skills. English proficiency, Spanish a plus.
● Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
