At January Capital, we look to invest in technology businesses that will power growth in the Asia-Pacific region over the next decade. We are committed to investing in founders who challenge the status quo. We’re inspired by those individuals who are willing to dedicate themselves to solve some of the region’s biggest challenges. We manage more than $400 million on behalf of our investors (our investors comprise leading institutions, corporations, and families). Our portfolio includes Akulaku, Shopback, Skedulo, Go1, Cyble, Cialfo, Tazapay, and others.
About the Role
This new hire will be an integral member of the January Capital early-stage equity investment team, specifically focused on the firm's software investing efforts. You will work with one of the firm's senior investment professionals as an "apprentice" to learn how to be a lifecycle investor. This includes assisting with identification and execution of new investment opportunities, as well as working closely to drive initiatives post-investment across their portfolio (i.e., attending board meetings and actively support portfolio companies on critical projects). You will also spend a percentage of your time on firm-building activities.
We are looking for a bright, extremely motivated and talented individual. Most importantly, we are looking for people with grit and an attitude that means they will pitch in where needed. You will have the ability to be part of a collegial, tight knit, and energetic investment team. This is a two-year analyst program with the potential for the right candidate to enter a "partner track" at January Capital.
Objectives of the Role

- Be a champion for systems and processes. Improve current processes and coordinate organizational procedures for optimized efficiency and productivity alongside senior management. This includes low-code/no-code tooling implementation.
- Conduct due diligence on potential investments, including investment memo drafting, market analysis, customer feedback, mapping industry landscapes, and financial modelling.
- Support senior members of the investment team with their portfolio companies.
- Help to manage the team's investment pipeline (including sourcing new opportunities, where required).
- Participate in firm-building activities that will help position January Capital as the leading early-stage investment firm in the Asia-Pacific region.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, handling inquiries and developing action plans to address them, and assisting with the preparation and dissemination of communications.
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree from a well-regarded tertiary institution, in a technical discipline (i.e., Computer Science, AI/ML, or a related field). Post-graduate qualifications in these disciplines will be viewed favorably.

- Previous experience that will allow you to quickly grasp complex software concepts within a short amount of time.
- Ability to think creatively and identify new investment opportunities in emerging technologies and business models. Deep passion for technology and a desire to build a meaningful network in the Asia-Pacific venture ecosystem will be essential.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- An ability to move fast and learn quickly, juggle a long list of priorities, work autonomously and implement processes and procedures all without comprising attention to detail.
- Multi-jurisdictional experience with a focus on Southeast Asia, Australia, or North America would be valued favorably.
- Singaporean / Singapore PR candidates will only be considered for this role.
