Responsibilities
Research and Business Development
- Conducting extensive market research analysis and gathering industry intelligence to help identify new investment trends and opportunities
- Participating in the business development efforts by building a network within the start-up ecosystem and VC community in targeted markets
- Maintaining deal pipeline database and ensuring that all information on current and potential investments is updated on a regular basis
- Preparing reports, research papers, analysis, and presentations of high standard, as required
Investment Execution and Portfolio Management
- Undertaking initial screening of investment opportunities against CE-Ventures’ investment criteria
- Building financial models for evaluating investment opportunities and providing inputs for strategic recommendations where appropriate
- Assisting investment managers/department head with commercial and financial due diligence on companies, performing market research and financial analysis, including review of historical and projected financial information, conducting potential returns analysis and scenario modelling
- Developing investment papers for review by investment managers/department head
- Supporting all aspects of investment management of portfolio companies including monitoring operational performance, analysing periodic financial statements, preparing monthly update reports and valuations
- Supporting all transaction work related to divestitures including preparing all required information and analysis
Education
A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance /Economics / Business from a top-tier university. A Master of Business Administration (MBA) from a globally recognised business school or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) (at least cleared Level 1) would be an added advantage.
Work Experience
2-4 years of post-degree work experience in top-tier investment firms, with two years of experience in venture capital
