We have decision makers on the ground in all the markets we invest in, which ensures close collaboration, effective deal sourcing as well as the ability to act decisively when opportunities arise.
What you will do
As an Investment Analyst at Openspace, you will support the investment team across all stages of the investment lifecycle, from deal sourcing to portfolio management and exits.
- Industry Research & Analysis: Analyze market trends to identify investment opportunities and areas where Openspace can build thought leadership.
- Financial Modeling & Investment Evaluation: Build detailed financial models to evaluate the potential and risks of companies. You will assess key factors like business models, traction, competitive landscape, and founding teams, with the ability to apply common forecasting methods.
- Deal Sourcing & Execution: Participate in deal sourcing efforts, evaluate pitch materials, and support deal execution. You will be involved in the due diligence process and begin taking ownership of specific workstreams.
- Portfolio Management: Collaborate with senior team members to support portfolio companies in their fundraising efforts, business strategy, and growth. Lead coordination with the Portfolio Success team and identify ways for the team to add value to portfolio companies.
- Board Management: Assist in preparing board materials and learn about governance structures, decision-making frameworks, and the roles of boards in supporting companies.
- Exit Strategy: Support the team in planning and executing exit strategies and liquidity events. Develop an understanding of exit planning and participate in strategic discussions.
What we look for:
- Graduates in Business/Finance or related field for a top tier university
- Minimum 2 years experience with a Venture Capital/Private Equity/Investment Bank/Consulting.
- Proficiency in financial modelling and building presentation decks
- Strong time management and organisation skills, with the stamina and agility to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Must be a team player with willingness to share knowledge and best practices; Maturity and strong stakeholder management skills
- Analytical problem-solver with strong quantitative and financial analysis capabilities
- Fluency in MS Office especially MS Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Second language would be advantageous
- The ability to build and maintain successful relationships with colleagues across the firm
