Job Title: Analyst (Aligned Climate Fund)

Purpose
Aligned is seeking a full-time Analyst for a fixed 2-year program. The Analyst will be actively involved in investment sourcing, due diligence, execution, portfolio management and operations for Aligned’s venture capital strategy – Aligned Climate Fund (ACF). This strategy targets Seed, Series A, and Series B investments across four key sectors: clean energy, efficient buildings, electric transport, and sustainable land use. This role will be based in Aligned’s New York City office and requires in-person attendance Monday through Thursday with remote work optional on Fridays.
Duties & Responsibilities
This Analyst will have the following duties and responsibilities:
- Market Research and Analysis
- Conduct detailed market analysis to identify or study emerging trends and opportunities in emerging sectors of interest.
- Evaluate the regulatory and policy landscape and its impact on potential investments.
- Deal Sourcing
- Conduct data analysis for the purpose of sourcing high-quality investment opportunities.
- Develop and present investment theses and recommendations to the fund’s investment committee.
- Due Diligence
- Contribute to investment due diligence and Investment Committee memo drafting.
- Create and manage financial models and capital table models for new investments.
- Portfolio Management & Platform Operations
- Support the investment team in monitoring and reporting on portfolio performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in finance, economics, engineering, accounting, environmental science, political science, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of work experience in a fast-paced role involving financial modeling and investment analysis. Clean energy or climate experience is not required, but is an additional qualification.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proven analytical, investment analysis, research, and financial modeling skills with advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;
- Fluency in written and verbal communications; and
- Strong commitment to addressing the threat of climate change, although work experience in the sector is not necessary.
Compensation
- Annual salary of $85,000
- Eligible for annual bonus up to 40% of base salary
- Full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401k
