Opportunity

Volta Circle is seeking an entrepreneurial and self-directed early-career investment professional to join as an Platform Associate. The associate will report directly to our Managing Partner, Catia Cesari, and will lead all internal operations whilst also supporting investment activities and portfolio management.

This is a broad ranging role that will expose you to all the mechanisms of operating a VC firm. As a lean and globally distributed team, the ability to communicate and collaborate across functions and geographies, share knowledge, and contribute to Volta Circle’s broader goals are essential.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Manage our existing standard operating procedures (SOPs), as well as develop new best practices for areas such as technology & tools, CRM management, collecting market research, etc.;
• Lead portfolio reporting including tracking company performance and preparing summaries;
• Own the firm’s marketing efforts, including social media presence, website updates, portfolio company updates, and other public profiles;
• Plan and coordinate external activities such as conferences and speaking engagements, technical advisors, internships and future hiring, etc.;
• Support with other internal operations such as scheduling, meeting note-taking and tracking of idea development;
• Support in preparing high quality, internal presentations and related materials for Investment Committee meetings;
• Support with startup due diligence and market research;
• Support legal processes including KYC processes and audit reviews;
• Contribute to the firm’s thought leadership and thesis development.

Experience and Capabilities

• 1–3 years work experience in one of the following domains: platform/operations at a VC; operations at a high-growth start-up; chief of staff; project management; product management; or management consulting
• High attention to detail, flexible, collaborative, and willing to be involved in all aspects of the business;
• Strong interest in the circular economy, sustainability, and impact investing;
• Excellent oral, written communication, and presentation skills;
• Strong academic achievement with an undergraduate degree from a top institution;
• Fluency in English required.
• Previous experience in a dynamic start-up, or innovation lab-like environment or equivalent is important. Overseas experience is also a plus.

Location

This will be a hybrid role, predominantly remote with the expectation to attend a London office space 2 times a week. Office Location: FORA co-working space, various locations in West & Central London, UK

Compensation

Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
