Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate to join our dynamic venture capital firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in climate technology, circular economy principles, and venture capital. This role offers the opportunity to engage with early-stage companies, evaluate investment opportunities, and contribute to impactful projects in the climate and sustainability space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investment Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research, financial modeling, and due diligence for potential investments in climate and circular economy ventures.
- Deal Sourcing: Identify and evaluate emerging startups and technologies with a focus on sustainability and circularity.
- Portfolio Support: Assist portfolio companies with strategic guidance, business development, and networking opportunities.
- Preparing Investment Memos: Develop comprehensive investment memos that outline the key aspects of potential investments. This includes summarizing market opportunities, assessing technology and business models, and detailing financial projections and risk factors. Ensure that memos are well-researched and articulate the potential impact of the investment.
- Virtual Data Room Management: Oversee the setup and management of virtual data rooms for due diligence processes. Ensure that all relevant documents are organized, up-to-date, and easily accessible. Utilize virtual data room tools to present data visually and facilitate efficient review and analysis by internal stakeholders and potential investors.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and investment committees. Clearly communicate investment findings, recommendations, and progress updates.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Environmental Science, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- Experience: 2-4 years of experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, or a related field. Prior exposure to climate tech or circular economy sectors is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills, proficiency in financial modeling and valuation, excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Passion: Genuine interest in climate change, sustainability, and circular economy principles.
- Languages: Fluent in English and Arabic, both written and spoken.
- Location: Must be based in Cairo or willing to relocate.
