Joyance Partners is hiring an Investment Associate to join our team. We are looking for someone with prior venture investment experience in life sciences or healthcare-related sectors. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing investments, sitting on the investment committee, leading due diligence, executing deals, building your VC/CEO network, and supporting fundraising efforts.
We are a U.S.-based venture capital fund with teammates located in New York, San Francisco, Texas, Asia, and Europe. The firm invests in early-stage and growth companies in consumer, healthcare, longevity, software, and frontier tech— all with the underlying theme of promoting health, happiness, and delightful moments in everyday life. We are one of the most active VC funds globally, with ~$250M in AUM.
Comp: Salary will be $100K-$125K range, including fund carry.
Responsibilities:
Deal-flow analysis, including evaluating and executing potential investments.
Representing Joyance Partners in the market and building strong relationships with entrepreneurs, co-investors, and other stakeholders.
Supporting the development of the firm’s strategic direction and participating in fund management activities.
Conducting due diligence, building investment theses, and drafting Investment Committee memos when appropriate.
Taking a hands-on approach to the fund’s investment process and participating in weekly Investment Committee meetings.
Collaborating with founders and providing general portfolio company support.
Required Qualifications:
Prior full-time transactional investment experience (Venture Capital, Growth Equity, Private Equity, Investment Management, or Hedge Fund experience) or Strategy Consulting experience.
A high degree of intellectual curiosity, especially towards new and emerging science and technologies.
Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
Familiarity with healthcare investments and an understanding of how companies create and analyze relevant metrics in the healthcare-related fields.
Adaptable, professional, creative, thorough, and willing to pitch in on any and all work that needs to get done.
