We are a new, independent early-stage Venture Capital Fund backed by one of Germany’s most renowned Family businesses and established network partners out of the German and European venture ecosystem.The ‘C’ in Simon Capital means much more to us than mere money, and we will leverage our investors’ expertise and industrial ties for the benefit of our portfolio partners. Headquartered in Düsseldorf, we are investing in Consumption (e.g., food/ biotech, consumer brands), Wellbeing (e.g., digital health, lifestyle, beauty care) and Productivity (i.e., tech/ software plays that solve Mittelstands-relevant topics). What the job offers
- Support an end-to-end investment project management with the clear perspective to further develop in upcoming years
- Contribute to the team’s deal flow origination, analysis of investments and negotiations by engaging with founders, topical experts, and co-investors
- Conduct market research and analyze potential investments with scrutiny as part of the financial and commercial due diligence processes
- Drive process and engage with third-party service provider in e.g., tech assessments, legal assessments
- Shape the portfolio post-investment including ongoing performance assessment of portfolio companies
- Work pro-actively on the identification of the portfolio companies’ risks and opportunities and support in the value creation process of these assets
- Help developing Simon Capital as a leading next generation VC that is attractive for young talents, co-investors, and founders
- Create and expand your network into the VC and startup ecosystem and develop your own investment brand
Who we are looking for
- You have an excellent academic background in Business Administration, Engineering (e.g., IT, Food Science), or other technical qualifications
- You have gained relevant work experience in Private Equity/ Venture Capital, family offices, top tier consultancies/ investment banks, or M&A boutiques or departments. Alternatively, you have operational startup experience as a founder or early-hire
- With your experiences you will contribute to our long-term strategy of building deep sector knowledge
- You have a structured, analytical and data driven work approach, a hands-on personality, team-play-spirit and efficient self-time management
- As an empathetic and trustworthy team player with high accountability you are respected by colleagues, the network and founders
- You have fun in dealing with tomorrow's disruptions for the next generation and openness for innovative topics; needless to say, that you should enjoy learning
- You are curious and passionate about consumption, wellbeing, productivity from various angles across business models
- You speak German and English fluently
