Pioneer Fund is seeking a Community Manager to join our team of 9 full-time staff. This role will play a pivotal part in managing relationships with venture partners, investors, and founders within the venture capital industry. As part of a lean and impactful team, the Community Manager will foster a thriving network, organize impactful events, and develop meaningful connections to support our growing community. The ideal candidate will execute engagement strategies, oversee communication, and serve as the primary point of contact for community members to ensure alignment with Pioneer Fund’s goals.
Pioneer Fund combines capital, expertise, connections, and support from 470+ Y Combinator alumni to invest in Pioneer Fund’s and YC’s network. Founded in 2017, Pioneer Fund has made 600+ global investments, supporting hundreds of founders. We are currently one of the most active seed-stage investors in the world.
Toronto (Hybrid – 2 days/week in office). Remote considered for exceptional candidates.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build and manage relationships with venture partners, LPs, and founders, ensuring alignment with the fund’s goals and initiatives.
- Develop and execute community engagement strategies to foster collaboration among investors, founders, and other stakeholders.
- Oversee community engagement efforts, including communication, events, and relationship management, to ensure a consistent and high-quality experience.
- Manage onboarding of new community members to ensure seamless integration and engagement.
- Plan and coordinate events (both virtual and in-person) that drive engagement and provide value to the community.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align community engagement efforts with broader marketing and operational initiatives.
- Monitor and report on community engagement metrics, providing insights to refine strategies for future growth.
- Develop resources to help stakeholders effectively leverage the Pioneer Fund network.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with experience coordinating events and initiatives.
- Proven ability to foster community engagement and develop strategic partnerships.
- Familiarity with venture capital ecosystems, startup culture, and investment processes.
- Passion for startups and investing.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of experience in community management, partnership management, or a related role within the venture capital or startup ecosystem.
- Ability to work independently in a remote/asynchronous environment.
- Proficiency with community engagement tools and platforms such as Airtable, Slack, or Notion.
