Palm Venture Studios is seeking motivated individuals with a passion for startups to join our Venture Fellows Program for the Spring 2025. In this role, you’ll connect and engage daily with founders and VCs in support of our mission to rescue and build companies that positively impact human and planetary health.

For our next cohort, we'll be prioritizing candidates with experience in Business Development / Sales and those who have existing networks in and around the early stage and venture ecosystem.

As a Venture Fellow, you’ll learn how to identify compelling early stage investment opportunities and perform financial and business due diligence. You’ll experience rapid learning cycles across a wide range of industries, and see up close and personal how venture deals are structured. You’ll also be given the task of performing experiments with generative AI and building new automations as part of our sourcing engine.

Venture Fellows will work directly with our Director and Senior Associate who oversee origination, and will be mentored by a Managing Partner(s). This role is a paid contract position requiring a full-time commitment of 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

Source new deal opportunities through various outreach campaigns including email, LinkedIn, phone and in-person events

Screen and perform due diligence on deal leads to qualify promising deal opportunities

Write investment briefs and perform financial and business analyses

Generate targeting lists of new investment targets, venture funds, venture debt providers, lawyers and other early stage stakeholders

Implement process improvements to our sourcing engine via generative AI, agents, automations, templates, etc.

Represent Palm Venture Studios at local startup events (1 external event / wk) and co-host activations in our studios to further our deal origination efforts (1 hosted event / month)

Requirements

Love for prospecting with 2+ years of experience as a BDR, Sales Rep, or high-volume prospecting (ideally from a startup selling products to startups or VCs)

Strong existing personal network of founders, venture capital firms, restructuring professionals and/or service providers

Must be located in Austin, TX, the greater Austin area, or willing to relocate to Austin.

Ability to engage directly with startup founders, executives and board members

Experience analyzing financial statements, business plans and pitch decks

Skillful at critical thinking and asking good questions

Preference will be given to recent MBA graduates and candidates with sales and/or business development experience.

Benefits

Compensation will include a $4K monthly stipend + cash bonus for closed deals that you originated
