Work-Bench is a New York City-based early-stage venture capital firm, investing in founders with enterprise ambitions. We back founders who ask “Why do we do it this way?” across AI/Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, Cloud Native Infrastructure, and Applications. We have worked with world-class companies like Spring Health, Socure, Cockroach Labs, FireHydrant, Arthur, Authzed, Courier Health and others to tackle their enterprise software Seed firsts: first product launch, first sales hire, first 6-figure contract, and more.

With $375M AUM, we work side by side with our founders on scaling their 0 to 1 GTM engine and have grown a dynamic SaaS community here in NYC over the past 11 years.

At Work-Bench, we think about the idea of “sourcing” differently than other funds. Our DNA is very much in community - and we believe and have seen firsthand that if we grow and support NYC enterprise ecosystem, then great things will happen. Over the last decade, so many of the people we have gotten to know here in NYC have gone on to become Work-Bench founders, operators, advisors.

Thus, our community engine is core to our investment work. We’re hiring a Head of Growth to lead our demand gen engine to reach a future generation of founders and operators, to help chart the future of our Growth efforts and rethink how we share our SaaS insights across events, content, and programs and reach an even wider audience. Nothing is off the table!

10 years in, we consider ourselves at Work-Bench still very much a startup, and this role is ideal for someone passionate about marketing in a fast-paced, startup-like environment who can own and drive both in-person and digital initiatives.

You'll get to:

  • Think everyday about how to reach founders before they are founders, develop programs to extend our reach, and support our own investment process like a demand gen funnel.
  • Build associated content, storytelling, playbooks, reports, programming, events, and social media around our demand gen community engine - whether it’s a new podcast series, a dedicated event meetup or webinar series, an e-book collection, or a high touch in-person program for operators, owning everything from strategy to relationship management to execution.
  • Provide a clear vision for our team on how we think about the Work-Bench brand, as well as each of our team’s personal brands.

Here's what would make you a perfect fit:

  • You love meeting and connecting new people.
  • You’re a hacker and builder and a founder at heart - you wake up everyday asking “how do I make this better?”
  • You thrive on asking deep meaningful questions and you’re a sponge in learning how to build and scale exceptional companies in SaaS, constantly devouring posts and podcasts and Substacks on what makes world class companies stand out.
  • You’re unrelenting about craftsmanship in your work and you have an extraordinarily high bar for quality - and you’re comfortable pushing the team to excellence from the biggest initiatives to the smallest details.
  • You’re ok to try new things - because why not? You believe that more reps and experiments makes you learn faster.
  • You thrive on being an underdog and the bigger the challenge, the more this motivates you!
  • Ideally have 5-7 years of growth / marketing experience directly from a Series A-B SaaS company and be able to draw upon your past insights and expertise to advise our founders.
