About the Opportunity

We are seeking an impact-focused and detail-oriented candidate to be our inaugural Impact Manager, who will manage our incoming grants portfolio to support organizational operations, as well as build our grant-making processes to further our community impact. This role will work in close collaboration with our Executive Director and leadership team to align fundraising workflows with our mission and help MFF strengthen its impact within the state of Michigan.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage and report on existing grants to ensure full compliance
  • Identify new grant opportunities that support MFF operations, write applications, and secure grant funds
  • Administer all components of the grants cycle, including database management, grant documentation, data integrity, and grant compliance
  • Support the Executive Director in developing processes for donor engagement, stewardship, and tracking within a CRM system
  • Build and manage outgoing grantmaking fund processes, and manage all aspects of implementation
  • Maintain, update, and improve grant management systems, organizational processes, and file management as they relate to development, with team support
  • Track program-level goals and metrics and develop shareable reports
  • This position occasionally requires work beyond typical business hours when necessary to participate in events or meet deadlines.

About You

  • Experience with donor management, fundraising, grant management, program management, project management, and/or related field
  • Familiarity with building and/or managing internal grant management processes
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Curiosity about the Michigan’s innovation ecosystem and energized to be a part of growing organization
  • Commitment to equity and creating pathways for underrepresented entrepreneurs
  • A growth mindset and excitement for learning new skills and systems
  • Experience with technical grant management systems and requirements is preferred
  • Familiarity with state and federal grant management and/or requirements is a plus
  • Familiarity with Hubspot or similar CRM systems is a plus
  • Familiarity with project management leading practices is a plus

Additional Details

The Impact Manager is estimated to start work in Fall 2024. This is a full-time position and is hybrid/remote-based (within the state of MI) with the requirement to travel to work with team members in Detroit, Ann Arbor, and other regions of MI as needed.

This position is salaried with health insurance benefits, 401(k), annual travel and professional development stipend, and generous PTO. Annual salary is estimated at $70,000 - $85,000, based on experience.
