The Role
SJF Ventures is seeking three exceptional MBA students to join our team as Venture Fellows for 2025. This is a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about impact investing and venture capital to gain hands-on experience at a leading fund. Venture Fellows will engage in work across all aspects of venture investing, including:

Deal Flow: Participate in sourcing and screening new investment opportunities, evaluating potential portfolio companies aligned with SJF’s mission and focus areas.

• Diligence: Support due diligence efforts by conducting market research, analyzing financials, assessing business models,  and evaluating teams.
• Portfolio Support: Collaborate with portfolio companies to deliver strategic and operational value, contributing to their growth and impact.
• Impact Management: Assist in impact and portfolio acceleration projects as well as impact reporting and management.
• Fundraising and Operations: Assist the SJF Ventures team with fund operations and with preparation for  the capitalization of our sixth fund.

Program Structure

• Spring Semester 2025: 1.5 days per week in the office (Durham, NYC, or SF)
• Summer 2025: Full-time internship in one of our offices
• Fall Semester 2025: 1.5 days per week in the office

Qualifications
We are seeking top MBA students with a demonstrated commitment to impact and innovation. Ideal candidates will have:

• Enrollment in an MBA program located near one of SJF’s offices (Durham, NYC, or SF)
• Passion for impact investing and venture capital
• Strong analytical and research skills, including financial modeling
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Entrepreneurial mindset and eagerness to take initiative
• Experience in venture capital, investment banking or entrepreneurship

Compensation
Venture Fellows will receive a competitive stipend during the summer full time and a part time stipend for the spring and fall semesters, if not receiving academic credit, such as with a mentored study program.
