We’re looking for a passionate, curious, and driven early-career investment professional to join the firm’s dynamic and growing team. This investor hire will be responsible for sourcing new deals, expanding our network in new ecosystems, driving the investment process and contributing to the firm's cultural growth. In this role, you will forge strong relationships with early stage founders and be trusted to serve as a face of Offline Ventures within the tech ecosystem. Your purview is not just tied to investments; we're looking for someone who enjoys every aspect of company building—someone who is intrigued by the chaos of the new, has original ideas about the future, and is driven by the excitement of the uncertain and the potential of the undiscovered. This is also an opportunity to collaborate closely with our seasoned entrepreneurs, operators, and investors and to bring your own investment ideas, theses, technical and market knowledge to the table. This role is based in the San Francisco, Bay Area.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sourcing: Spearhead the identification, evaluation, and consummation of promising investment opportunities within sectors that Offline is particularly excited about such as AI, hard tech, health and consumer.
- Investment Process: Act as a project manager for the entire investment process, managing deal volume and pipeline and interact comfortably with entrepreneurs across the whole lifecycle of the investment process.
- Investment Pipeline Management: Build and maintain an active investment pipeline, ensuring all necessary data is tracked and available to facilitate quick funding decisions. This includes providing quarterly reports to the investment team on the pipeline's health, including sector coverage, missed opportunities, and potential co-investor collaborations.
- Due Diligence: Execute comprehensive due diligence, including evaluating business models, financials, market prospects, team dynamics and other key factors.
- Network / Community Engagement: Bring unique networks of early-stage founders and operators under the Offline umbrella and serve as an ambassador for Offline across the ecosystem.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Polymathic knowledge and passion for the tech ecosystem derived through experience.
- 4-8 years of relevant professional experience in venture capital, entrepreneurship, or operational roles within high-growth environments.
- Proven ability to forge deep, trusting relationships with early-stage founders and maintain a strong network within the startup and tech community.
- Track record of excelling within fast paced, high growth entrepreneurial settings.
- Educational or professional experience rooted in technical fundamentals is a major plus.
- Passion and authentic curiosity around all aspects of company building.
- Outstanding communication skills and an innate talent for connecting with a wide variety of stakeholders.
- Demonstrates a strong drive and energy to support a growing firm, along with a keen eagerness to learn from experienced colleagues to continually develop and grow.
