Key Responsibilities:

End-to-End Investing in Pre-Seed to Pre-Series A Ventures: Lead and manage the entire investment process, from sourcing, screening, and evaluating ventures to informing Investment Committee (IC) decisions.

  • Sourcing: Identify and assess Pre-Seed to Pre-Series A stage climate-oriented ventures across Southeast Asia, with initial investments at Pre-Seed and Seed stages, followed by potential follow-on investments at Seed and Series A stages.
  • Due Diligence: Conduct due diligence on early-stage ventures, technology, and founding teams. Prepare and present ventures for the Investment Committee.
  • Deal Closing: Negotiate investment terms and close deals with founders. Participate in IC meetings for the deals.
  • Thesis Refinement: Continuously refine the Investment Thesis for the Fund in collaboration with the Managing Partners, developing a clear strategy for investing in tech-enabled climate-focused ventures in Southeast Asia.
  • Relationship Management: Manage relationships with founders post-IC and throughout the value creation process, driving follow-on investment decisions in collaboration with the CEO and Founding Partners.

Portfolio and Data Management: Build strong relationships with founders, identifying challenges and opportunities to support them in defining their growth and fundraising strategies.

  • Portfolio Support: Work closely with founders to advise on investor materials (e.g., pitch decks, financial models, datarooms), build a pipeline of investors, and support term sheet negotiations, cap-table management, and equity-related matters. Introduce founders to potential investors and VCs, assisting them in closing subsequent funding rounds while maintaining and negotiating the Fund’s position where necessary.
  • Data Management: Develop and maintain a data strategy that supports the portfolio strategy, enabling seamless and transparent reporting. This includes contributing to community-facing reports and content, such as LinkedIn posts.
  • Systems and Processes: Refine and maintain the Fund’s internal investor database and CRM, strengthening workflows, systems, and processes to build a data-enabled investment and value-creation engine.

Relationship Building and Community Engagement: Activate and grow the local network by building relationships in the community with founders, angels, VCs, universities, corporates, and other partners, particularly in the climateTech and sustainability spaces.

  • Rapidly expand and deepen your value-add network and relationships with prominent Southeast Asia VC ecosystem of investors and corporates, especially in the climate space, while leveraging existing relationships to support portfolio companies.
  • Supporting and working closely with other colleagues with comms assets as part of our community building efforts

Build a Team & Strengthen Culture: Contribute to building a high-performing team and culture, driven by collaboration and impact.

Your Professional Experience & Personal Attributes:

  • Academic: Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in the startup or venture capital ecosystem is required, with a proven track record of successful deals and existing relationships within the community. Investment experience is essential. If you come from another industry, please highlight the relevant transferable skills that will enable your success in this role.

About The Radical Fund

The Radical Fund is an early-stage venture capital fund enabling an inclusive climate transition for a resilient Southeast Asia. The Fund invests into adaptation and mitigation solutions that combat the causes as well as the impacts of climate change. With a focus on Pre-Seed, Seed, and Pre-Series A ventures that are in the region, the Radical Fund is delivering scaled commercial and climate impact outcomes. Our Vision is to transform Southeast Asia into the world’s leading climate-focused venture economy. And our Mission is to invest financial and human capital, supporting early stage ventures to deliver scaled climate outcomes.

Our venture team of Investment, Product, Growth, ESG & Climate full-time specialists works hands-on to co-design with our founders to get them to success faster. Our investment value-add is based on our extensive experience in delivering hands-on value to early stage founders across South Asia, Southeast Asia, Africa, Europe, U.K. and the U.S.

This is our third investment vehicle, following the success in South Asia and Africa, having built and scaled 140+ ventures over the last 10 years, raised over $140 million from investors; and invested over $50million, through a 60+ people team. Our investment portfolio and experience spans U.S., Europe, Africa, South Asia, and Southeast Asia, with a regional operational hub in Bangkok and Singapore, and presence across Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, and Malaysia.

Our Culture

Our goals are audacious, and we want to work with people who share our vision and conviction for pursuing climate mitigation and adaptation at scale through entrepreneurship. We are building a results-oriented, specialised team, with people who thrive on agile and human-centric approaches to venturing.

At The Radical Fund, you will learn faster than you ever have before, being exposed to all aspects of venture capital and venture building. You will work with highly-specialised and diverse talent from across the region, as well as globally, and you will help us build a collaborative, inclusive, and supportive community.

All our team members are leaders, and we do not conform to the standard ‘corporate culture’ of high bureaucracy and hierarchy. We believe that good ideas can come from anywhere, and we love to build our way out of uncertainty. To ensure that The Radical Fund is the region’s best partner for founders contributing to climate change solutions, we look for people who bring experience in working directly with ventures and are hands-on, beyond advising or consulting startups.

Our Values

Radical’s Values guide how we interact with our team, partners, and founders, and what we expect of our leaders to drive forward our vision.

  • Be Striving for Excellence. Focus on continuous improvement, learning and execution, to deliver exceptional value and results aligned to our vision.
  • Be Bold and Push Boundaries. Audacious in breaking conventional thinking and pushing boundaries of what it means to be a Climate VC in Southeast Asia.
  • Be Informed by Data and Insights. Encourage debates while using data and insights to make informed decisions and deliver tailored value.
  • Be Human-Centric. Building people-focused systems and processes, understanding the needs, behaviours and emotions of our founders, partners and team members.
