Ultranative is searching for a part-time Venture Capital Intern to join our venture studio based in Austin, Texas. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-performing team and support a growing portfolio of companies spanning across the psychedelic, cannabis, energy, and aerospace industries. The part-time VC Intern position provides a unique opportunity to gain knowledge, a broadened network, and hands on experience one needs to build a meaningful career in venture capital.

Ultranative is seeking a part-time VC Intern to support our team in analyzing market opportunities, conducting research, supporting us in researching, developing, and providing strategic input for new business models and supporting our existing portfolio of companies and incubations.

Location

Candidates must be located in Austin, Texas. The position will be based out of our beautiful office near the State Capitol in downtown.

Job Overview

Responsibilities

  • Research emerging opportunity areas, support new business model development, and provide industry analysis
  • Produce detailed work products through the preparation of market research reports, financial due diligence, competitive analysis, and review of the evolving landscape within the psychedelic industry and other impactful sectors
  • Work with leadership and outsourced counsel to identify how regulations and policy hurdles impact the psychedelic industry
  • Support the leadership team with internal fund projects & incubations as needed, including monitoring & reporting, providing strategic input
  • Conduct diligence on investment opportunities and support our overall deal flow pipeline
  • Support in developing business plans, strategy memos, and fundraising decks
  • Analyze data to optimize performance across the portfolio
  • Provide strategic guidance to our incubations, monitor and support their operations
  • Collaborate with our entrepreneurs in residence to refine go-to-market and business development strategies
  • Support the development and refinement of business models for new ventures

Requirements

  • Passionate about psychedelics
  • Residing in Austin, Texas
  • Demonstrated academic and/or professional excellence in strategic analysis roles (i.e. investment banking, consulting, venture capital, research or buy-side experience)
  • Ability to communicate and present ideas to diverse audiences, including conversations with executive leadership at emerging companies
  • Strong problem-solving skills and strategic thinking abilities
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

  • Domain expertise / familiarity with the psychedelic, healthcare, biotech, and wellness industries
