We are seeking a distinguished professional to join us in the role of Investment Partner. As the Investment Partner at Hivemind, you will spearhead our venture capital initiatives, and oversee the entire investment lifecycle from sourcing to exit. You will lead a small dynamic team dedicated to identifying, evaluating, and nurturing high-potential companies within the blockchain sector.
Responsibilities
- Develop the fund’s venture investment strategy, aligning it with the overall business objectives and market opportunities.
- Identify and refine priority market sectors and key investment verticals, with a thesis driven mindset.
- Lead the deal origination process, identifying and securing opportunities that promise attractive returns.
- Conduct thorough due diligence, including financial and operational analysis, market trends, competitive landscape, and risk assessment.
- Effectively manage the investment portfolio, ensuring optimal performance and alignment with strategic goals, which include follow-on investment decisions and ultimately successful exits.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with founders, co-investors, and key stakeholders in the cryptocurrency ecosystem.
- Represent Hivemind at industry conferences, panels, and networking events, enhancing the fund’s visibility and thought leadership.
- Collaborate with the management team to formulate and launch new venture funds and strategies.
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and innovation.
Qualifications
- 7+ years' experience in venture capital, private equity, or investment banking, preferably with a focus on blockchain.
- Proven track record of successful tech-driven investments and exits.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with financial modeling and valuation techniques.
- Proficient understanding of blockchain technology and its applications for informed investment analysis and decision-making.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effectively negotiating and building relationships.
- Leadership experience, with a demonstrated ability to manage and mentor a team.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Business, Economics, or a related field; MBA or relevant graduate degree preferred.
$200,000 - $250,000 a year
Compensation: The expected base salary for this New York based position ranges from $200,000 - $250,000. The actual base salary will be determined on an individual basis taking into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, experience, education, relevant certifications, skills, and geographic location. In addition to base salary and the competitive benefits package listed above, this position is eligible for additional types of compensation, including target-based incentives.
