We are seeking an Investment Principal or VP who has deep expertise and experience in sourcing, investing, managing portfolio and supporting startups and their founders.
Job Description:
- Identify, source and evaluate new investment opportunities; conduct market, macro and technical research, and present views to internal stakeholders and IC
- Lead, manage and execute the full investment due diligence process, investment/financial analysis and modelling, deal structuring, investment memoranda preparation as well as transaction closing processes
- Actively build and cultivate relationships and partnerships across the venture ecosystem and early-stage businesses in Southeast Asia and North Asia
- Spearhead investment thesis development and lead the team to conduct in-depth research into focus industries or themes from time to time
- Coach and work with other team members to develop their skillsets, knowhow, processes and improve overall work efficiency
- Monitor the progress of portfolio companies and support value creation initiatives
- Liaise and manage relationships with external service providers such as consultants, advisors and lawyers as required
- Support fundraising or investor relation matters, and prepare regular investor reports, where necessary
Job Requirements:
- At least 7 years of experience for Principal in relevant areas including investments, investment banking, corporate development amongst others, and at least 5 years for VP. Experience with a reputable venture capital or private equity firm preferred
- Interest and passion for technology in various sectors and the startup ecosystem; exceptional analytical skills and knowledge in selected focus sectors
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to be able to liaise and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders
- Intention to grow with the firm over the long term
- Interest to work in fast-paced environment with high level of autonomy with strong sense of ownership, initiative and resourcefulness
- Excellent project management and time management skills; able to multi-task and take on a variety of responsibilities
- Excellent written and spoken English. Proficiency in second language required.
