The Opportunity
As a Principal in the Forbion Growth Fund, you will be at the forefront of identifying, sourcing, and driving investments in later-phase companies. The Growth Fund focuses on private growth capital, European crossovers, and undervalued assets, with a strong emphasis on company expansion through crossovers, VIPE/PIPE, and Series B/C rounds. Recent successes include exits such as:
- Numab – J&J acquisition of Numab’ asset-specific spinout of NM26 for $1.25 billion
- Aiolos – GSK acquisition of Aiolos for up to $1.4 billion
- Versanis – Eli Lilly acquisition of Versanis for up to $1.925 billion
- VectivBio – Ironwood acquisition of VectivBio for approximately $1 billion
What You’ll Do
- Due Diligence Management: Independently conduct and drive the due diligence analyses required to support an investment recommendation. Lead the due diligence process and team.
- Financial Analysis and Modelling: Conducting financial analysis and relevant techno-economic modelling of opportunities as part of the due diligence process to assess the attractiveness of a potential investment
- Deal Flow: Source deal flow and build a network with other investors and entrepreneurs. Guide analysts and associates in the management of deal flow processing and cross-fund activities. Supporting assessment and sourcing of investment opportunities leveraging networks and market research.
- Portfolio Management and Value Creation: Beyond deal execution, the investment team actively supports portfolio company management teams in developing and executing growth strategies, navigating key challenges, and achieving strategic milestones. The Principal will take increasing accountability through Board seats
What We’re Looking For
- You will have an extensive background in either VC, Investment Banking, Consulting or Pharma Business Development, with a focus and specialisation in lifesciences and biotech.
- You will have gained a minimum of 5 years experience in these fields
- Ideally, you will have an M.S.c / Ph.D or M.D in a lifesciences related field, but we are open to someone without with extensive experience investing in the field
- You will be an expert at independently conducting due diligence on potential investment opportunities, leading a team of analysts to uncover any potential risks or challenges
- You will be confident and communicate ideas with conviction, able to make recommendations to an investment committee
- You will be a strong leader, capable of leading teams, managing multiple projects and partnering with senior professional in Board environments
- A proactive approach to identifying and building value-creating opportunities, with excellent judgment in transactions and investments.
