Summary

GSV Ventures is looking to bring on a Workforce Program Associate to help with the growth of the Workforce Learning Community at the ASU+GSV Summit. This will be a year of significant growth for this segment of our annual Summit. The event is held in April, and we’re keen to have someone who can hit the ground running (as much as possible, at least, given the steep learning curve).

Company

The ASU+GSV Summit was founded 16 years ago with the intent to celebrate innovators and innovations across “PreK to Gray” education, digital learning, and workforce skilling ecosystems. Our mission is that ALL people have equal access to the future, and we believe that scaled innovations in the delivery of education and workforce skills are critical to achieving this mission. The ASU+GSV Summit, is the premier gathering of global thought leaders attracting more than 7,000 attendees from over 55 countries in 2024.

In 2024, ASU+GSV launched The Show, a free and accessible 3-day gathering exploring the AI Revolution in EDU. Held in conjunction with the Summit, our inaugural The Show attracted 10,000+ attendees (educators, administrators and AI innovators), including thousands of teachers new to the ASU+GSV community.

The Show and ASU+GSV Summit brings together the world’s most brilliant minds. Past keynote speakers include Common, Paula Abdul, Bill Nye, Bill Gates, Jane Fonda, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Presidents George Bush, Barack Obama, and Vicente Fox Quesada, FCC Chair Jessica Rosenworcel, Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, Secretaries of Education Arne Duncan and John King and more.

Over 100 corporate and foundation partners support us in producing this world class event including, The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, Coursera, McKinsey, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Google, Amazon, ASA (American Student Assistance), Jobs For The Future (JFF), ECMC, Stand Together Trust, The Walton Family Foundation, Sesame Workshop, and many other global organizations.

Additionally, the ASU+GSV & Emeritus Summit has been hosted for the past two years in Gurgaon, India, showcasing the quality and dedication of our longtime partners who support these transformative events.

Responsibilities

  • Managing relationships with our community of Chief Learning and HR Officers, startups in the workforce skills space, and non-profit partners and thought leaders.
  • Curating and fleshing out program ideas to be discussed at ASU+GSV Summit.

  • Collaborating cross-functionally with operations, partnership, and marketing teams.
  • Coordinating with partners, speakers, and sponsors to manage content delivery, event logistics, and schedules.

Multiple personas could be successful in this role. Here are some we’ve identified:

  • You’ve worked at a high growth startup known for improving the way employees work and learn, preferably in a role in which you built relationships with other startups in the market and / or worked closely with Enterprise decision makers at the C-Suite level.
  • You’ve helped plan one of the premier conferences dedicated to a specific industry – EdTech or HR would be great, but really any industry that requires collaboration between enterprises, startups, thought leaders, policymakers, etc.
  • You’re just a very smart, curious, and hard-working person - maybe from a startup, consulting firm, investment firm, or some other demanding setting that requires agile thinking and fast execution - who wants to go super deep on the emerging workforce learning space.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in the workforce learning space.
  • Either an existing network or interest in building a network of workforce thought leaders, enterprise CLOs / CHROs, and startups in workforce learning.

  • Very strong ability to communicate and manage expectations of C-Suite level partners.
  • Ability to think strategically while managing the day-to-day operational tasks.
  • Ability to learn very quickly. Knows the value of failing fast and failing forward. Creative and intellectually curious! 🙂

  • Competitive salary package + performance-based bonus.
  • Comprehensive health insurance coverage for you and your family.
  • Retirement plan with company contribution.
  • Generous time off, including weeklong companywide shutdown in December.
