Vice President, Impact
Responsibilities
- Be the voice of impact at Variant Investments
- Lead business development efforts for the Variant Impact Fund, with a focus on opening new investor channels in the institutional market, including endowments, foundations, consultants, impact advisory firms, donor advised funds, pensions, insurance companies and non-U.S. investors.
- Serve as the product specialist for the Variant Impact Fund, introducing the strategy to prospects, answering client questions and managing impact investor reporting deliverables.
- Work within the Investor Relations team to develop the firm’s distribution strategy, enhance marketing collateral, improve brand and messaging and potentially develop new investor product.
- Amplify Variant’s role and visibility in the impact investing community by attending and speaking at impact conferences, generating content for external distribution and managing Variant’s impact memberships such as Impact Capital Managers and Global Impact Investing Network.
- Serve on Variant’s Impact Investing Committee with responsibility for the firm’s impact investing policies and processes and investment-level impact assessment, monitoring and metrics collection.
- Contribute to the creation of the annual impact report for the Variant Impact Fund (click on link to see past reports)
- Participate in efforts to develop blended finance opportunities with external capital providers.
- Support the investment deal team in sourcing new impact investment opportunities.
Job Requirements
- Passion for impact investing.
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study. Graduate degrees and industry designations are highly valued.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Established network with prospective impact investors for the Variant Impact Fund and a strong reputation within the impact investing community.
- Series 7 license.
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to connect with others and communicate complex information in clear and compelling ways.
- Experience and comfort presenting in both small and large group settings.
- Flexibility for high frequency and short notice travel, including international destinations.
